Media releasesWinter Warmers campaign – race against the weather
Ïn announcing the Winter Warmers campaign, SSI CEO Violet Roumeliotis said: “Many refugees and asylum seekers arrive in Sydney carrying very little clothing and few personal items. As winter nears, we’re in a race against the weather to provide enough clean, warm clothes and blankets for our clients.
“Most of us have clothes at home that are still in good condition that we no longer use. SSI will collect and distribute those clothes to people in need; just call us and we will let you know where our collection points are located,” she said.
The SSI Winter Warmers campaign will focus on used but clean men’s winter clothing and closed shoes, including: windcheaters (water and wind proof), hoodies and sweatshirts, winter pyjamas, socks as well as blankets and bedding. However, all contributions are welcome.
