Organisations unite to support asylum seekers

“We invited representatives from the Australian Red Cross, Life Without Barriers and Marist Youth Care to come together with SSI representatives to acknowledge common areas of interest and discuss collaboration opportunities to meet the needs of our asylum seeker clients,” said SSI Manager Humanitarian Services, David Keegan.

“The main discussion focused on hearing how each provider was structuring their SRSS services, so how they operate, as well as how we can all collaborate.”

On the day, the four organisations agreed to get together for a quarterly information-sharing forum.

“The event fitted with SSI’s values of ‘co-operation’, ‘mutual respect’ and ‘commitment to partnerships’, so we were pleased with how it went,” added Mr Keegan.
